Florida Excellence in Volunteer Management Certification focuses on building the capacity of volunteer administrators, managers and coordinators throughout Florida by providing accessible, high quality training. The training builds upon the attendee’s experiences in volunteer management (government organization, nonprofit or faith-based organization) by providing relevant course materials and best practices.

Cost
$150 for the Six Course Series - Participation in all six courses is required.  Participants are expected to take a pre and post-test.  Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive the Florida Excellence in Volunteer Management Certificate.

FAVRM is focused on engaging and supporting organizational leaders and volunteer resource management professionals who inspire, equip and mobilize others to take action. FAVRM is a vibrant, passionate and experienced group of volunteer management professionals who provide a great support network.


Volunteer Florida is the Governor’s lead agency for volunteerism and national service in Florida. Volunteer Florida grants funds to educational foundations, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations to administer AmeriCorps and National Service Programs. Volunteer Florida leads Florida’s national days of service, including September 11 and Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. During disasters, Volunteer Florida is the lead agency for volunteers and donations.

The EVMT Presentation Team has more than 100 years of experience in volunteer management and volunteer coordination.

Jeri Bush, Volunteer Management Trainer

Jeri's passion, knowledge, and expertise in volunteer management serve as the background for her high energy, down to earth training and leadership style. VolunteerLEON is a nationally recognized model by the National Association of Counties and has received recognition for innovative programs. Jeri was honored in 2014 with Florida Association for Volunteer Resource Management's highest award, The Betty Tribble Excellence in Volunteer Management awarded by her peers.

Tom Linley, Volunteer Management Trainer, TomStar Services

Tom brings a variety of volunteer management experiences to the training.  He has served over 30 years in management in parks and recreation, community and faith-based non-profit organizations and in state-level emergency management.  He has managed volunteer programs from the ground up to statewide program management.  Tom taps into perhaps the most resources available - you and the other participants who each bring valuable experiences and lessons learned. Participants will enjoy his blend of easy-going and interactive training style with his experiences.

Mary Register, Problem Solver, Asset-Based Community Services, LLC

Mary has worked statewide with existing and emerging volunteer connector organizations to help to build capacity and strengthen community volunteerism and service.  Mary’s experience in non-profit and volunteer management includes working with United Way, Hospice and numerous community organizations. She is a successful grant writer and developed and managed the Volunteer Generation Fund, BEST Neighborhoods Program from its inception. Mary has conducted workshops and trainings on topics ranging from diversity, conflict resolution and customer service to emergency management and asset-based community development. She enjoys program design and service as a solution to building communities.

Mindi Rohan, Community Resilience Consultant, Mindi Rohan Consulting

Mindi has worn a number of different hats in the nonprofit gamut. With more than twenty five years’ experience she has created four nonprofit startups. Mindi began her career leading teams that transitioned people from state run institution to group homes in the suburbs. She has fostered independent and free thought as one of the founders of alternative education in Indiana and moved missions to cure rare diseases and unite community. Mindi works with numerous organizations throughout the state to direct human capital and secure funding. She continues to stay involved in volunteerism by serving on the board of directors for the Florida Association for Volunteer Resource Management and training professionals throughout the state.
