Winter Forum Shares Best Practices

This past February our FAVRM forum was hosted in beautiful Jacksonville, FL.  We met at the Jessie Ball duPont Center in downtown Jacksonville. The Jessie Ball duPont Center brings together the community and its nonprofits in a setting that appreciates the area's rich history while responding to the demands of today. Housed in one of Jacksonville’s architectural jewels — the former Haydon Burns Library — the Jessie Ball duPont Center provides offices for nonprofits and work and gathering spaces for the community in an energy-efficient environment with state-of-the-art technology.

About 40 volunteer management colleagues from around Florida joined us for a very productive Forum.  Several panels of experienced individuals discussed corporate volunteerism, how to craft and execute your messaging and fundraising.  Our fundraising panelist consisted of corporate, community foundation and family foundation representatives. Forum participants also served in a community service project for the Salvation Army.  The feedback was tremendous as participants say sharing best practices and networking were the top two takeaways from the forum.
