Forum Agenda
Join us for the upcoming FAVRM Forum August 3-5 in Immokalee Florida. Originally this region was occupied by the Calusa Indians and centuries later occupied by the Seminole after they moved down from the northern part of Florida. Initially the settlement was known as Gopher Ridge by the Seminole and Miccosukee Indians. Immokalee, meaning "My Home,” is heavily agricultural and is one of the major centers of tomato growing in the United States
Engaging underserved volunteers requires special considerations. This forum will provide participants with a deeper meaning into building capacity and expanding opportunities for volunteers to serve. Attendees will hear from local experts and learn how to develop a strategy that will provide volunteers with opportunities that stay rewarding over time. The forum will take an in-depth look at challenges faced with underserved volunteers as well as provide participants with resources in order to chart a strategic direction for their organization.
The agenda format will consist of small group interaction opportunities as well as large group presentations and panel discussions. We will have affinity group breakouts and updates from our National, State, and Local partners. We’ll leave our footprint in the Immokalee community with a hands-on service project and enjoy colorful and cultural networking dinners in the evening.
